About us

Neil’s passion for the survival, growth and particularly the successful exit by the owner(s) of small and micro businesses is a major driving force in his life. He knows that without the help and assistance he received early on in his career that his business would not have survived. It is this passion that has driven his preoccupation with what he calls “the business of business” or BOB.

The principles he holds are very much shared by the other team members who he has recruited specifically to ensure that you the business owner gain the maximum benefit from the diversity of experience each brings to the team.

It is rare for a business to struggle delivering its core product or service. To coin a phrase, butchers, bakers and candlestick makers tend to start operations manufacturing or supplying meat, bread or candlesticks. This they are supremely good at, it is their passion and it was to pursue that passion on their terms they walked away from their day job and set up their own operation.

However, a business involves a lot more than just product or service delivery, there is the marketing, sales, contracts, administration, HR, finance, legal, etc. It is often in these areas that business owners are not so versed or experienced …. and let’s be clear, these are not the things that light the fire of most entrepreneurial business owners.

Unfortunately there are times when any one of these areas becomes fundamentally critical to the survival of a business. If the owner(s) don’t have the knowledge or experience to deal with the issue, the outcome can be anything from time wasted to game over.
